Hyderabad: The 2018 World Cup was a goal fest as the tournament witnessed 169 goals scored in 64 matches, for an average of 2.64 goals per match. There were some class strikes, whether it be from free kicks, crucial moments or stunners from outside the box.

1) Cristiano Ronaldo vs Spain:
Ronaldo, in his very first game of the tournament, scored a marvellous hattrick against Spain to rescue a draw for Portugal. However, out of his three goals in the match, Ronaldo's free kick in the 87th minute is something which will be etched in most of the fans' memory.

2) Benjamin Pavard vs Argentina:
France's young talent Pavard scored a stunner against Argentina in the Round of 16 which ultimately helped his team to enter the quarterfinals. Pavard's outrageous slicing goal will definitely help him attract some major interest from big clubs.

3) Nacho Fernandez vs Portugal:
In the Spain's first match of the tournament, Real Madrid defender defenderFernandez took part in the starting lineup as a right-back due to Dani Carvajal not being fit to play. Nacho made the most of it and scored a perfect volley with his right foot to give the his team a 3-2 provisional lead over Portugal.

4) Philippe Coutinho vs Switzerland:
Brazil, who were one of the favourites to win the 2018 FIFA WC, were knocked out in the quarter-final. However, Coutinho was undoubtedly Brazil's best performer who helped and rescued his team on several different occasions, which includes their opening match, where his curling shoot helped Brazil take early lead against Switzerland.

5) Tony Kroos vs Sweden:
Germany had a horrible World Cup campaign as they were knocked out in the first round in Russia. However, there were some moments where they produced a moments of brilliance including Kroos's glorious free kick from an ambitious angle which helped the defending champions defeat Sweden in the dying minutes to keep their hopes of progressing alive.
